The Dutch M95 Kevlar helmet (officially the Gevechtshelm, composiet) replaced the steel M53 helmet and became the standard for the Netherlands Armed Forces in 1996. For United Nations (UN) peacekeeping missions, it was adapted into the well-known "Blue Helmet" version.

- Material: Constructed from aramid-phenol (commonly known as Kevlar®), consisting of 16 pressed layers.
- Manufacturer: Primarily produced by the Spanish company Induyco under license from the German company Schuberth (model B826).
- Weight: Depending on the size (XS to XL), the helmet weighs between 1,350 and 1,500 grams.
- UN Configuration:
- Blue Cover: Usually, the standard bronze-green helmet is fitted with a light blue UN helmet cover featuring a white "UN" print.
- Painted Helmets: In the early 1990s (e.g., during missions in the former Yugoslavia), some helmets were supplied directly in UN blue or were repainted locally.
Usage and Details
- Suspension System: Features an adjustable harness and a 3-point chin strap with a safety release to prevent choking.
- Protection: Provides ballistic protection against fragmentation and small arms fire.
- Current Status: The M95 has largely been phased out and replaced by the more modern Revision Military/Galvion Strong helmet.
