When is it awarded?
In the private sector, the Silver Palms are often awarded after a career of 40 years (or 35 years for the Gold Medal in combination with previous recognitions). In the government, specific rules apply per department, whereby the award is usually granted based on a fixed number of years of service and an impeccable service record.
