Polish army boots "Model Opinacz"
The Polish army boots known as the Opinacz are iconic combat boots of the People's Republic of Poland (LWP), recognizable by their integrated leather gaiter with two buckles.
They were actually a slight modification of an existing model, the Opinacz wz. 58 (wzór 1958), and first appeared in the late 1960s. The most notable changes from the original model are the removal of the characteristic toe cap, a redesigned sole (which retained the usual reinforcement screws, albeit to a lesser extent), and slightly different buckles and leather color.
These few aforementioned adjustments to the design led to the model's new, simplified name: Opinacz. As mentioned, the model was produced from the late 1960s until its end in the early 1990s, making it by far the most common and widely produced variant of the LWP (Ludowe Wojsko Polskie, Polish People's Army/PPA) combat boots. The original wz. Model 58 is very rare today, as it was only in production for the first few years and was quickly replaced by newer models.
