Webbing Belt MP White

The British Webbing Belt MP White is the white service belt that was worn by the Royal Military Police (RMP) of the British Army and the Royal Navy Regulating Branch. This belt primarily belongs to the Pattern 1937 (P37) webbing system and was used during World War II and the post-war era for official duties, traffic control, guarding government buildings, and ceremonial parades.

Key Features

• The "Blanco" Finish: Historically, British soldiers did not always receive ready-made white belts from the factory. Instead, they took standard khaki or olive green P37 canvas belts and coated them with white Blanco or later with white paint to give the belt a bright, clean appearance.
• Hardware/Buckle: Equipped with standard British buckles and sliders. Unlike American belts (which have metal rings/grommets), the British P37 belt has a smooth canvas exterior with vertical brass hooks on the inside for length adjustment.
• Modern Successor (Courlene): For modern British ceremonies and duties, traditional canvas has largely been replaced by White Courlene—a durable, glossy polyethylene (plastic) belt that does not need to be whitened or polished and can simply be wiped clean.
