GDR East German medal for loyalty services
€ 12,50
The medal for 20 years of loyal service at the Ministry of the Interior (MdI) is the second-highest rank in this series and was also executed in gold.
Here are the key details for the 20-year variant:
- Appearance: Just like the 25-year version, this medal is gold-colored (gilded). The major difference lies on the reverse side, where the number 20 is prominently displayed.
- Meaning: This award was presented to personnel of the People's Police, fire brigade, and penal institution who had served honorably and continuously for two decades.
- The Ribbon: The ribbon is red with yellow-gold stripes on the sides. The accompanying ribbon bar (for the daily uniform) often features a small gold-colored emblem or stripes to indicate the 20 years.
- Collector's Value: Because 20 years of service is a significant length of time, this medal is less common than the versions for 5, 10, or 15 years. The value usually lies between €15 and €30.
