Dutch Regiment Limburgse Jagers

Beret and collar insignia of the Regiment Limburgse Jagers. At the time, the design was heavily influenced by Colonel J.L.H.A. Antoni and symbolizes the deep connection with the province of Limburg.

The Beret Insignia

The gold- or bronze-colored metal beret badge is placed on a specific green cloth background with a crimson piping.

The insignia itself is composed of three historical elements:

• The hunting horn: This symbol is taken directly from the coat of arms of the ancient County of Horne and the provincial coat of arms of Limburg.
• The sword: A short, vertically placed Roman sword that symbolizes military force and is also found in the Dutch National Coat of Arms.
• The oak leaves: Surrounds the hunting horn and the sword, inspired by the phrase "bronsgroen eikenhout" (bronze-green oak wood) from the Limburg provincial anthem.
• The text banner: At the bottom of the insignia, the words “LIMBURGSE JAGERS” are written in an arc.

The Collar Insignia (Collar Tabs)

The collar tabs are worn on the lapels of the uniform.

• The base: Consists of a diamond-shaped (or tapered) green background, bordered with a crimson edge.
• The insignia: A smaller, metal version of the regimental insignia (featuring the sword, hunting horn, and oak leaves) is mounted onto the fabric.
