M-1945 Field Pack
€ 55,00
The Greek M1945 combat field pack is a post-war tactical backpack produced and used by the Greek army, heavily based on the iconic American M-1945 Field Pack system.
Features and Background
- Virtually identical to the U.S. version: The design, layout, and closures almost exactly match the American combat backpacks deployed at the end of World War II and during the Korean War.
- Material and color: Although the model is identical, there are often minor differences in the type of canvas and the specific shade of olive drab (OD green) compared to the original American variants. They also do not feature a "U.S." stamp on the front.
- Carrying method: Just like the American original, this backpack can be hooked directly onto load-bearing suspenders, or worn independently as a standalone pack using additional straps.
- Modular system: The combat field pack forms the upper section of the gear setup (for immediate combat essentials). A separate cargo pack (for extra clothing and rations) could be attached to the bottom.
This type of backpack is highly popular within the militaria collecting community and re-enactment scene (particularly for Korean War or early Vietnam War impressions), as they are virtually equal in quality to the American versions but can often be found at a more favorable price in unissued condition (deadstock).
