The French kepi for a dentist (Chirurgien-dentiste) within the Service de Santé des Armées (SSA) follows the same basic design as that of a doctor, but has a specific purple color code for the velvet band.

Features of the Kepi

• Bandeau: Made of purple velvet (velours prune). This is the main distinction between doctors (crimson) and pharmacists (green).
• Calot: Dark red.
• Buttons: The gold-colored chinstrap is attached with buttons.

The kepi has some tears in the peak.
