The US Army Case, Cleaning Rod, M1 is a World War II-era canvas pouch. This case was designed to store and carry standard .30 caliber firearms cleaning rods. It was primarily issued alongside American small arms such as the M1 Garand rifle and the M1 Carbine.

• Purpose: Houses the sectional, screw-together steel cleaning rods, a T-handle, and cleaning patches or brushes.
• Material: Heavy-duty cotton canvas. The color transitioned during the war from early-war khaki (OD No. 3) to late-war olive drab (OD No. 7).
• Variants: Early iterations featuring the "A" suffix (C6573A) typically have four individual interior slots for a four-section cleaning rod. Later wartime versions were simplified into three slots.
• Dimensions: Measures approximately 34 cm x 10.5 cm.
• Attachment: Standard versions feature a metal belt hook (M1910 hanger) or a canvas loop. This allowed the soldier to hang the case from his cartridge belt or field gear.
