The red, white, and blue Rijkspolitie armband is an armband (or sleeve band) that was introduced immediately after the liberation in 1945. These fabric identification bands were worn by the newly formed State Police (Rijkspolitie) to be instantly recognizable on the streets, often before complete, official uniforms became available.
