British Police Cap
€ 20,00
The headgear of the Lancashire Constabulary (the police force for the county of Lancashire in England) has made a noticeable return to traditional styles in recent years.
Current Status: Return to Tradition
Since August 2022, the Lancashire Constabulary has discontinued the unisex baseball caps for most officers. The force leadership decided that the caps detracted from the authority and professional image of the police force.
- Male officers: They now wear the traditional peaked cap with the black and white "Sillitoe tartan" band.
Features of the Cap
The traditional Lancashire caps feature specific symbols:
- Cap Badge: The force badge often features the Red Rose of Lancaster in the center.
- Sillitoe Tartan: The caps have the familiar checkered black and white band that is characteristic of the British police.
- Material: Modern versions are often made of wool or a wool blend with a plastic or leather peak.
