Belgian commemorative tapestry from 1934

Woven tapestry in memory of King Albert I of Belgium. The immensely popular "Soldier King" tragically lost his life on February 17, 1934, during a climbing accident on the cliffs of Marche-les-Dames. This plunged Belgium into deep mourning and led to a massive production of commemorative memorabilia.
